Remembrance day is on 11th November. It is a special day set aside to remember all those men and women who were killed during the two World Wars and other conflicts. People wear a red poppy in memory of those who sacrificed their lives during the wars.

November 5th marks the anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot, a conspiracy to blow up the English Parliament and King James I in 1605, the day set for the king to open Parliament.
